now see i just don't take jimmy for a one night stand kind of a guy! ;-) ....awwww. an old rescue dog is a good thing! the three week trial run was a brilliant idea. is it a really old or really sick dog? or just a dog with alot of life but alot of chronological years?.....we should talk about a plan. let me know if you've had any thoughts. email on facebook is probably best for that or phone. i'll email you the phone number. ...but if anyone can handle alot on her plate, you can.
Duh! Found the "blog" section! (And, sad to say, it wasn't drugs. I had to give them up after the first day. Too bad I'm so honest - I could make a small fortune on leftovers!) Now if I could find the time to actually sit and do one. Jack home today and appointments aplenty tomorrow, so maybe after that...
OOOps.. sorry I didn't realize you were the judge! Yes, great movie! I like your web site...I posted it on facebook to try and get you more members..hope it helps
The Girl in the Cafe is such a wonderful film! You can find it on Netflix, or any of the rental places. I don't want to say anything about it's content. Better to just find it and see what you think......
i'm looking forward to it! donna, i think it would be great if you added a pic of something well known like gone with the wind or kate hepburn or something so that when we post on facebook we get a pic instead of that shadow pic. since you started the discussion you need to do it....sorry bout that! ;-)
Hi Lisa....I know I've been quite. Must be the time of year with the changes of the season and slowing down as this rock turns slowly on it's axis. I've been gathering up my brushes and cleaning up my canvases and getting ready to do some painting. I just dug out my portfolio and scattered all my "works in progress" around my studio to give them some air. I've been working up some clay projects and woodburning some gourds as well. I apologize for not being more of a participant in here, but I am sure there will be days when you wish I would just go back to my room and be quite. ;)
oh my gosh, janet....i wasn't scolding you! do whatever you need to do to be your wonderful creative self. and come here when you feel social. i was just noticing that you had tucked yourself away and hoping you're ok! and i'm glad to see you are and working in the studio. i hope you'll take some pics and show us along the way! xxoo!
hahaha me too!!!! i've never had a runaway blogpost before! esp on the topic of ghosts!!!! i cant find it anywhere...yet! you wait! it'll appear in my journal or something! ;-)))))
ooooo! i'm excited! very excited!!! yes THAT excited!!!! i keep the house dim too, cuz then i can tolerate my own reflection when i pass a mirror! but this is a bit too dark even for me!
Actually, Maggie is a mining town ghost from either Victor, CO... we met one late night on the second floor of the Sasperilla Saloon.
One caveat... this song is a journey, not a jog... it is around 7 minute and 45 seconds long, but it took this long to tell the whole story. It's coming soon!
I found an old chest behind a door in the ancient ballroom
Inside lay treasures of times long gone and a century past
Papers and letters, and photographs of a young woman in love
Her name was Maggie and this chest contained all her hopes and dreams
The locals told me these old stone buildings are haunted
Uneasy souls live here, wisps of wind in the mortar
Maggie dances through the night, they hear her footsteps on the ceiling
She moves with the grace of flight, dances with a lover she once knew
I heard the rumors of this old building
Harboring spirits not of the living
But I've never seen a ghost and I don't believe
I always felt that way 'til I met Maggie
=
In my room that night on the second floor of that same building
A book left on the nightstand told of ghosts living in this town
I read more of Maggie and of an incident in the ballroom
A gunman took her husband's life on their wedding night
So she never got a chance to dance with her new husband
Now she lives upstairs, doing pirouettes on the dance floor
No one knows why she stays to twirl and dance all night
Maybe she's just waiting for her husband to return
I read the rumors of this old building
Harboring spirits not of the living
But I've never seen a ghost and I don't believe
I always felt that way 'til I met Maggie
=
She came to me in a dream that night
A vision of beauty, all dressed in white
She waltzed over so gracefully
She offered her hand, I took it in mine
She said. "I've missed you so much, why did you leave?"
Softly she kissed me, I began to believe
We floated on air, on a cloud of romance
Holding on tightly, we danced
We danced all night, we danced
But as the dream shifted to fog (But as she began to fade)
I swear I heard her cry out
"Now I'm free, I'm free!"
=
Next morning I awoke and returned to the ballroom
I shivered with the memory of her flowing dress
I rifled through photographs, eager to find something I had missed
Looking for a clue to explain this vivid dream
Then one of those pictures chilled me to the bone
The picture was of the two of them, holding hands together
When I looked at their faces a strange feeling overwhelmed me
I couldn't believe my eyes... his face was mine!
Now I know the fact of this old building
It harbors one spirit and she's still dancing
All around my memory, and I now believe
I deny the truth no more, since I met Maggie
your life always sounds magical, susie. i love that! you make the simplest things seems like art. listening to gillian welch, drinking hot cider and a hot bath..not a TON better than that! oooo i'm excited about my package! how fun! i'm up and working on wiffle stuff ......sleep or wiffle? decisions, decisions....
Hi Lisa, Doing ok here, got a 50 minute dental appointment tomorrow! Tony keeping well, started treatment number 7 with one more to go...almost finished our kitchen renovation!! To be sure Ciaran will be more than welcome...I'm hoping to catch up with him soon...he's such a busy guy! LOL...p.s. never did find the new comments that Elle left me (well, that's according to my email alerts!)...hope that all is well with you... x
Bad back. Not much to say. Other than that, all is well. The beginning of the week was spent keeping toddlers happy - Meg and boys were here for a couple of days while SIL was away on business. There's nothing like waking up to two little faces peeking at you; two little voices telling you that you need to get up! "Get DRESSED Nanny!!" (Needless to say, that's why my back is bothersome now - can't resist little arms reaching up to me!)
hi elle! i had a feeling you were up to something. little arms reaching up is totally worth the hurting back, but i'm sorry it's hurting! i have so much darned stuff to do this weekend, i'm drowning in thinking about it. so i'm just going to try to do what i can and beg for some angels to come and do the rest! xxoo
Hi Lisa, sorry to say that I'm no better (worst luck!!)...been in my pyjamas all day...wrapped in duvet, then I'm TOO hot, 2 minutes later I'm feeling cold...I just can't win...LOL...ah well, tomorrow is another day as the saying goes...hoping that you are well, take care xx
I would love to hear the story about the people behind Midnight in the Garden. I can tell that it was quite an experience for the author. That would have been a lot of fun, even with the creepy stuff!
Hi Lisa...I've written lotsa poetry and some other things like essays and short pieces. A friend of mine clued me in to Wiffledust. It looks interesting. I'm part of a poetry group and a creative writing circle in this berg.
UGHHHHHH I have had NO time to write lately... and it's looking like I'll have no time off in the next two weeks either. :(
But yes, the acting was fun. :)
Lisa, Thank you so much for your warm thoughts and words. I appreciate your response. I just felt like I had to write my thoughts. Seems odd to no longer have living parents. Different. I'm doing ok with it and know it is a new place in my life and I'm ready for it. Happy for my Dad that he is no longer in any pain and can be reunited with those that have preceded him. A new beginning for all...
Hi, Lisa! Yup, back's giving me fits again. Been trying to get ready for Thanksgiving (we get the kids for it this year) and between that and the back kind of gave up on the movie talk. I was very much outnumbered, although despite People finding him sexiest (and I will admit to said sexiness) and although I find him most "adorable" (nod to Sue), I still don't think he's "large" enough (and way too "pretty") to carry Rhett!! ;-p
Thanks for checking up on me. Have a good holiday! Hope it's full of things to be thankful for!! <3
In Americus at the moment. Just got off work. Headed to Leary (near Albany) shortly for Thanksgiving dinner with my friend's family! What are you up to?
thats good to hear. yes mine was stressful. I did homework most of the day, and my parents sold our house. so it was sad knowing that yesterday was our last thanksgiving there.
