A place to celebrate what we're grateful for. It's fun to think about these things, and apparently it's good for your health too! Embrace your creativity! Go ahead and celebrate your gratitude for anything, no matter how big or small it may be!
I had asked the salesperson if she could hold them for a day because I had a coupon at home. That's when the woman chimed in. Really does restore faith in human kindness.
Before there were parking kiosks, I used to leave extra time in my meter, or put a quarter in someone's expired meter. A very simple and inexpensive random act of kindness.
oh i forgot about the parking meter thing. i used to do that too. i don't think i'd have even remembered if you hadn't said something. when i'm out and about i always try to make some people feel pretty or handsome. nothing like it when a stranger seems to think you look just fine! ;-)
It's true. Simple acts are so rewarding. We are mirrors. Generally if you just smile at someone, they will feel it and respond in kind.
I play at nursing homes, and have also noticed if you tell someone they look lovely, they will light up. Simple stuff.
We've had a lot of rain non-stop for a few days, and it's still coming down. They're forecasting sun and 20C for Saturday though! Crazy! I'm glad it's nice where you are :)
Today, every day, I am thankful for the nurture-ers, the compassionate-ers-, the random stranger smilers or assist-ers, the pro-active understanding-ers, the non-judgemental-ers, and all the "MOTHER-ers"!!!!
oh that's wonderful, Jodie! me too! it's always the nurse or doctor or teacher or neighbor who acts like a "mother" that can make the day turn from a horror into something that's just fine, isn't it? may we all be each other's mother!
would anyone like to share what of their mother they are or were most grateful? my mother's fighting spirit and hilarious sense of humor have gotten me through some hard times.....and for that, i'm grateful!
I am grateful for Queen Victoria and for the people who decided that it would be a good idea to celebrate her birthday in Canada, thus giving all those who reside there a wonderful long weekend to enjoy and spend with loved ones. Awesome.
haha! and did you know our haiku woman jami has a daughter who was born on queen victoria's birthday? .....i'm grateful for the good help of good friends. sigh.
I am grateful that a friend donated her umbrella to me the other day, because today, my walk to work was a little wet. (But not as wet as I would have been without the umbrella!).
an umbrella can be a good thing, helen! ;-) i'm grateful for someone who is going to run a crucial errand for me that i can't do for myself today. we all need each other all the time!
I am grateful that my soccer game scheduled for tonight has been canceled. We just played yesterday, and have games on Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and beyond. I'm already tired from yesterday and really starting to feel old!
Haha! I certainly feel old when I'm chasing kids around the pitch who are more than 10 years younger than me! Especially when our team doesn't have enough players to start with, and the other team has substitutes coming out of their ears, swapping on and off every five minutes. Still, experience often seems to win over youth in the end I'm glad to say.
i know! once in awhile just when you're feeling low on stamina, you can pull out a move that you have experience with that they never saw! hee hee! grateful for experience sometimes!!! ;-))
this is a great way to start your day, hmm I never notice great and grateful. okay.. I am greatful I like this word. Okay being grateful will keep your attitude positive. when you realize you are not so positive. just go down the list. Starting with just your breathing.. could get up in the morning and walk to the restroom without help, if you needed help , heck it was there for you. So its all good.
I''m grateful that we had company from our hometown visiting for the last few days. It's always nice to see a familiar face. To keep the friendships that we developed over the years, even when we move away. I'm grateful that we still have so many dear friends from home. And the fact, that we have so many new friends here where we live now. I value friendship.
'morning, helen! new friends are wonderful....and i like the way you put it. open. it's easy to stick to the same group of friends, but it's so important to open your mind and heart to let new people in. yes, important to be gratefulf or people who do that!
I am grateful for summer heat. It makes nicer weather....nicer. And it allows me to sweat like a caveman to more fully comprehend the easy life we live in these modern, modern (what an undated word that seems to be!) times.
rick, you are a better person than i am! i'm having a very difficult time being grateful for this heat. but i'm looking at the birds outside my window, and they seem to be enjoying it. so i'll try to be grateful for them! ;-)
