movie night around here and also saw "it's complicated". i'm a little slow to see stuff, you guys. this movie kind of angered me. for me, it fell into the "unedited" movie categories where they put alot of money into the stars and not the plot or writing. it had a cute premise and good acting. so why not make it a good movie? the relationship wasn't clear. alot of it was cliche, and even the music seemed borrowed from "something has to give" or whatever the title was of the diane keaton/jack nicholson movie. ....anyone else? blaze, and older movie, was far fresher with verrry witty lines in it.

watched "blaze" tonight with paul newman and lolita davidovich. such great lines in this movie. paul newman just said ..as he oggled blaze..."God, if i could walk like that i'd walk everywhere i went..." LOLOLOL! paul newman is excellent in this. one of the best acting jobs i've seen him do.

Jodie, is Message in a Bottle one of the Nicholas Sparks movies? I might be corny, but I LOVED "The Notebook". I thought the acting was really great with the two younger characters in that one. I cried!!!!!! As for Paul Newman, there is very little he does wrong! ;-)

Except for the grand scenic elements, "message in a Bottle" was kinda a sleeper...oh,I near-forgot, Paul Newman "made" the movie for me, even tho' he was not one of the two "mains."

I have not seen or even heard of it but will make it a point to see it Thanks Dan. I too have too many favorites to pick just one. I must strongly recommend an old one I saw as a child and never forgot. "Whistle Down the Wind" with John and Haley Mills. it was written by Mary Haley Bell.....Haley's mother and John's wife. It's about three children (siblings) in rural england who, having just heard about the story of jesus christ's trial and crucifixtion, find a wounded escaped convict (Alan Bates) in their barn. He looks like the pictures they had seen of Jesus so they vow to tell no adults and keep him hidden bringing food and water. They tell only their frineds who want to see "Jesus". When the adults find him the children beg them to let him live asking, "don't you know who he is?".. This movie was and still is so hauntingly wonderful and the soundtrack mesmeriing. Truly a must see.

Ellie, That is too funny! When the movie, "You've Got Mail" came out, I heard from friends and strangers alike that Meg Ryans character had "my" name...kathleen kelly.
I also made a FB friend with the same name (kathy Kelly) from Chicago, where I used to live, when she saw a post I made to "The Trevor Project"

Jeff Bridges - I think it was the Fabulous Baker Boys that did it for me!!
; ) He is one sexy dude!! And once again, one of my favorite books was made into a movie (albeit an HBO movie) with JB playing author Jon Katz in A Dog Year. I hear he's up for an Emmy for that part.

And I have to tell you, I smile whenever I see your name, Kathy. One of the jobs I worked in I had to answer the phone with our department and my name, so I would answer, "Traffic. Ellie." and for years people would call back and ask for Kathy Kelly!! My SIL still calls me that every now and then!
