I have the Marigold hotel on my list with netflix...every Saturday I watch a movie in the eve and it goes back on Monday and then on Wed I get a new one in the mail for the next Saturday...just sent back The magic of Belle Island...after a couple heavy duty ones I needed a bit of magic....next up is the Tourist...and even if it is not great it has Johnny Depp in it so I can't go wrong... LOL
thanks for joining, rick, and thanks for these suggestions. i haven't seen the marigold hotel yet but want to very much. that has judi (y?) dench, right? dancing at lughnasa was one of my fave movies for a long time. it's a perfect little irish movie like waking ned devine or circle of friends. i love stuff like that! now i want to see it again. as for netflix, maybe this stuff is now available for instant streaming? amazon maybe? i'm not sure
The Marigold Hotel movie and Dancing At Lunwegsah??? Can these be found online? The last dozen or so movies folks have recommended as being on Netflix, aren't there anymore.
Yes I love it too I saw it first as a play at our Civic theater ,and The secret of Roan Innish and Into the West were movies I like as well...have both of those LOL !
so happy to hear this, nancy! if you like irish movies, have you tried "dancing at luneghsa"? or however you spell it? :-)
broke down and joined netflix...so thought I would have a look at what you all are watching......of course I am still catching up on movies that I never got to a theater to see...last night it was Black Swan....yikes it was good but I almost felt psychotic watching it......going to make sure next is light weight family fare....I loved Waking Ned Devine when I first saw that and have my own copy ..love most of the Irish movies....
i saw "Game Change"..the movie about Sarah Palin during her VP selection. It was really well acted. Woody Harrelson, Ed Harris, and Julianne Moore did a great job portraying a really WEiRD time in American politics. Check it out and let me know what you think.
I LOVE that film!! It's a little piece of heaven!!
if you have to be up in the middle of the night, it's a blessing to find "waking ned divine" on there. a perfect little movie about an irish village and a lotto ticket is a treat i highly recommend!
"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" is on TCM tonight ...if you've never seen it, it's the best! Katharine Hepburn, Sydney Poitier, Spencer Tracey's last film...don't miss!
