I love the composition! So, you say your friend is standing next to this mighty specimen ... like, Where's Waldo? is your friend the orange/red object? help! where is your friend?

This little stump is the stump of a 2000 yr+ old coastal redwood tree... likely floated down the Eel River to the ocean... likely bouncing around the ocean for a long time...  Where trees grow to 300+ ft high and having diameters of up to 20 ft... or more... this is a big one... my friend is standing next to it for reference.. and we see lots of driftwood like this in the area...
