I can’t believe how these last eleven years have flown

Looking at where once a small boy stood, I see just how much he’s grown

Once he took naps, liked to cuddle, & needed my help for everything

And as I look at him as he is now, I wonder what the future will bring

I try not to worry & just place it all in God’s…

They say that good friends are hard to find

But I believe that’s only true if you don’t use your mind

I made some mistakes over the years on whom I chose to trust

I now know that mutual respect, loyalty, & communication are all a must

Common interests & chemistry also play a part 

In fact, that’s where…

I was ready to give up on finding the one for me

So very ready to put my heart under lock & key

I wanted to fall in love & see it last the test of time

But my track record suggested I’d never know that feeling so sublime

Over the years, my heart had been shattered too many times to recall

And yet after each…

For years, I wandered through the ashes of my past

Dwelling on pain, guilt, & heartaches that I thought would forever last

“Will I ever be able to move on, from my yesterdays be set free?”

I cried out to anyone who was willing to hear me

Scattered memories lingered deep within my mind

I just couldn’t seem to find…

As the cold clings to my bones

Refusing to let its hold on me go

The sun shines, radiating off me a golden glow

Renewing within me a fierce hope

I have faced worse than this

And always have made it through

I know that there is joy in the days ahead

Realizing this, I no longer face this day with…

As the last light of the day fades away

I find my mind trying to lead me astray

My body is weary and ready for rest

But my thoughts try to take me on a most lengthy quest

Thus is the way it goes most every night

I fight dragons and demons with all my might

Just to try and get a little sleep

Wishing for…

On this the day of rest

Our love for You is put to the test

Will we rise ready to praise your name?

Or will sleeping in and ignoring You be our game?

Yes, it is true that every single day we should adore You

Not just on the Sabbath should we sing your praises, this is so true
