and i think you definitely did do that! and very well too! my eye seemed to be drawn to the circular'ness of it all!

Well thank you!  I like your analysis!  I've tried to create here something like you might find hiking in a woodland--something organic, sustainable, and supportive of local wildlife.  However, the aesthetic is also important to me.  What I particularly like and was trying to capture in this shot, is the way the Redbud drapes itself over the dry creek creating a contrast between the delicate new green leaves of the tree and the solid, but colorful, stone of the creek.

i love the composition here, maggie. the branches seem to envelope the center. the eye takes us around a nice circle! the colors blend so beautifully too, and all of the texture mixes are interesting to the senses!
