Oh thank you! There were so any constraints to consider in the placement of each stone (size, orientation, what we had available as surround for any particular stone, how fast he mortar was setting) that it was hard to also be certain that we were succeeding on blending the colors. In the end, there was not a single stone left and a lot of the blending, I think, has to do with the fact that most of the stones are native to Baja California (before the Mexican-American War) and blend well in nature.
