i'll check them out on youtube. i got to see susan gibson at kerrville folk festival a coupla weeks ago. great show. i'll be posting more blogs on the performers i see and hear. so much music, so little time.
wish i had an answer...i have a friend who lives near junction, texas, and i'd like to stay with her some. as far as career, i'm just wanting to take a year off from a career. i taught students with special needs for the past six years and i'm exhausted; my personal life was a mess, too.
in the past 4 years i've been "getting rid of things that no longer serve me". i've been divorced a year, moved back to the woodlands, and have just been plugging along. i've got to take some time to refill. i have a bach. of music in piano pedagogy, so i can teach piano, but i don't know where yet. the aching in my soul is to play piano and sing, so i need time to focus on building a repertoire.
i lived in austin many years ago, but it was a traumatic time. last summer i revisited the places and events, and there was lots of healing. so many things are in the air right now...i'm having a hysterectomy on monday, i have to recover from that, all before my insurance runs out.
i have a house for sale in plano, too. i have to break the news to my ex who still lives there that i'll only be able to help with the mortgage for two more months. (when i left he was undergoing diagnostic testing for luekemia, so it went on the back burner)
i've been doing well taking things one day at a time, but sometimes i get nervous. and i don't want to ask for help! i'm trying to be more independent! this is the first time i've ever lived on my own. so i have to seek help, and that gets me down.
the adventures will be great if i can handle the stress!
you look really familiar. do you happen to attend horizon unitarian universalist church in carrollton?

Maybe I'll get to go to "little folk" in the fall. I'm changing careers and moving to the hill country soon, so funding will determine my attendance.
Plus, I wanna see loudon wainwright III in the fall. Gotta see him, for sure!
In between lives in the woodlands I lived in Plano for three years. Pray I sell my house soon so I can ease into my "vow of poverty". ;)
