i'm so grateful for a break in the excessive heat wave! it's not gone yet, but it's on its way out. a person can't think clearly in 100 degrees, and the flowers were crying. we can't have weepy flowers, can we? bring on the normal temps!

there's a cool breeze outside right now. i can't describe the gratitude i have for that!!!

I'm grateful that I could share my day with a friend that I'm just getting to know. We went on a short hike and then went off roading in her truck.

that's beautiful. life is better shared, mariah. ...i'm particularly grateful for support lately on a somewhat stressful situation. we all need each other not only for the stressful moments but to share the good ones!

I'm so grateful that we aren't having wall to wall news coverage about tons of dead children in Georgia thanks to Hero Antoinette Tuff!!!

I'm grateful for friends. I have a friend I go to the movies with. I have friends I can call for support. I have friends on Facebook I can have heart-to-heart talks with. I'm also grateful to be willing to show up for life and for being patient with myself. I've been having some rough times lately, getting over a cold and feeling lousy. Tonight I feel peaceful. I've learned I can only do a certain amount and I can't do it all in one day. When I feel ill or tired I have to rest. So I'm going to bed! :)

I am thankful to be here on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. There was a profound effect on me as I watched it live so many years ago and I pray today's youth will learn the lessons we have barely scratched the surface of today......

Amen to the gratitude for friends and the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. I am so grateful to the boys and girls, men and women who were so brave and risked their lives for a better and more just society!

i am grateful for lower humidity, because it's easier to breathe! i am most grateful every day for any and all kindness i encounter. kindness makes life worth living. yesterday a VERY kind secretary made my life easier and restored my faith in humanity. never underestimate what your kind acts and words can do to others!

i am so grateful for the selflessness of first responders everywhere. 

I second that, Lisa. Here's to "Mikey and Carlie" (as I call them), the 2 names on my local firehouse's engine, lost from their brethren on 9/11/2001; to Friar Mychal Judge, the 1st first responder and the first casualty, who died of a heart attack at the scene; and to musician, loving father and Executive Chef Jeff Hardy, lost from Cantor Fitzgerald. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

they will both be in my prayers tonight, pamela!

I am grateful for lazy days! We had one on Sunday. Drove into Seattle and had coffee and a nice coffee shop and next door was a bookstore. If there is one thing I love, it is reading the Staff Pick suggestions for books. It's the nicest touch that a bookstore can do imho!

i'm grateful for kindness today. 

I am grateful for the brave servicemen and servicewomen who paid the ultimate price so that the rest of us could be safe, sound, and pursue happiness in this republic. May they rest in peace.

I am grateful for our fighting forces tonight. Islamists in Iraq have run the Christian minority into the mountains, and threaten in videos to attack New York again and destroy it. Our choice is clear: we must defend the defenseless there and ourselves here. I am grateful for those who risk their lives so that we can do that.

I am grateful for the coming of autumn…for the smells and sounds of change, for the promise of cooler breezes, for the colors coming, for the spring in the step...

Grateful for modern technology..we skyped with our son who is in New Delhi..love seeing his face and hearing his voice

sometimes all it takes to remember what you have is by someone else mentioning what they are grateful for...today I am grateful for the beautiful sunshine after several days of much needed rain....

i'm grateful for the music of birds chirping in april and the way the sun hits the dogwood blossoms in april! 

for a day that was warm enough and breezy enough to dry my sheets on the line today...looking forward to bedtime and crawling in between then and thinking THANK YOU THANK YOU....

i love the smell of sheets dried on the line, nancy! my mom used to do it all the time. thanks for that memory!

that was the way I grew up too...line dried sheets as long as weather permitting....I am grateful that I do not live in one of those communities that have rules that say no clothes lines .. :-)

Grateful that I have had the opportunity to leave my previous job as hospice social worker and take the summer to relax and figure out what's next..working with children...Grateful for my loving and supportive family and friends..the air I breathe and the sounds of the morning birds.
