A place to celebrate what we're grateful for. It's fun to think about these things, and apparently it's good for your health too! Embrace your creativity! Go ahead and celebrate your gratitude for anything, no matter how big or small it may be!
oh a teacher is a wonderful thing to be grateful for, rita. a good teacher is more imporant than any equipment for sure. i'm so glad your kids have good ones this year!!!
me too, maryrose! rita, i'm so glad for the power returning to most people now too. i have alot of people on my page who are just now getting turned on again. i feel so for what they have been through!
in the town where i live, people are wanting to build onto their houses, and the town turns down most requests for additions to houses. they site the need for having only x amount of impermeable space for water runoff. most of the time people grumble and think that's ridiculous. well, today with all the flooding happening i'm grateful that we have town planners that think about things like this so that we have the least amount of flooding as possible. it really IS important to respect the GREEN!
happy feet area good thing, rita! i might design some new wiffle sneaks this weekend! i'm grateful for the beautiiful color of red the dogwood out my window turns to this time of year. and i'm very grateful for new lightbulbs in the outdoor light so i can seeeeeee !
yes, rita! i am so grateful today for those who put their lives before us. i am so moved by the firefighters and rescue people (and dogs) who went into the fire to save our people. they are the best of us without a doubt. i am grateful for the tremendous good in the american spirit. i am grateful for our love of each other.
well to be honest, rita, it came from me being annoyed at someone who was going out of her way to make my day difficult...but i turned it around and thought of all the people who go the extra mile to make things easier. and while it seems like little things, it's a big thing to just be NICE!
i'm sooo grateful for the crisp air. the heat was exhausting this summer, and the energy in the air makes all the difference in my ability to get fun stuff done. i feel 100% more inspired. i'm praying for rain for our texas peeps.
I am grateful for the happiness I feel living in a place I've only dreamed of living for the last 4 years, after much struggle. I still have to pinch myself to believe I am here. I'm afraid I will be an annoyingly happy individual until I settle down. I too am exhilarated that the summer heat is gone! Hooray!
Lisa, it's all about the region for me. I went to summer camp in a town not far from here and have fantastic memories of the Blue Ridge mountains. My politics are different, my background is different but I am feeling nothing but warmly welcomed. There really is a Southern hospitality and after too many years in a rude environment filled with stress I am relieved to be slowing down the pace of life. I know you won't believe this but I have heard only one honk of a horn since I moved here in June! Those things seem "important" but I have to also say that having four seasons (and mild ones) are a magnificent change in my life that I have long been craving.
Rita, I'm grateful for your mother's stable condition today. Hopefully you can breathe a little easier now. I cherish my mother too and pray for her health, happiness and longevity each day.
Grateful for another day, and more tomatoes, and lots of beautiful sunshine with cooler temps, and loyal doggies, and a husband painting the downstairs after he laid over 300 sq. feet of linoleum, and music, and Alanis Morrisette singing to me, and for amazing wound care nurses taking care of my mom's leg, and light bulbs, and Peroni Nastro Azzurro in a beautiful green bottle, and I am especially grateful for time to meditate. Yep, that about sums it up for this moment.
Thank You Nothingness, Thank you Silence ... thank you :-)
i, too, am grateful for your mother's stable condition, rita. i'm grateful for your mother's healing, maryanne. i'm grateful for all good mothers, those with us and those with us in spirit. sherry, i'm so grateful you're not only here, but HERE with us and sharing! i'm grateful for this very quiet time this morning where i can be still with some thoughts. yes, maryanne, sometimes the silence can drive me crazy and sometimes it's something i'm sooo grateful for!
i'm really grateful for cozy dark days. they depress some people, but i get inspired by curling up with my fave books and markers and pens and all the things that make me want to create. this is a particularly dark one here in pennsylvania, but oh the candles look nice! :-)
Grateful for an evening meal with my family. Being able to make the favorite foods of my husband's past for him to enjoy. For another year filled with love and many blessings from above!!
that's something beautiful to be grateful for, maryrose. i'm sure it was delicious. i hope you had a great holiday. you too, rita. yes, i think that cozy days are productive even if they are filled with pj stuff! i get more interested in cooking on rainy days too. esp when it turns cooler. which it is taking awhile to do!
Grateful the downpours held off just long enough for the kids to finish their soil study!! Also, tremendously grateful for my great friend and excellent naturalist, Nicole, for sharing her talents and inspiring all the kids, especially Veronica!!
this is the most perfect weather. and it makes me feel so inspired and energetic. i've done more this morning than i have all week. i'm so grateful for a crisp day!!!
Grateful for a weekend of rest, for feeling better--slowly, but surely. Grateful for wonderful, caring friends and family. Grateful for all the gifts I've been given! :-)
Grateful for the beautiful fall weather & for feeling much better!! Also, grateful for the opportunity Veronica has to work with a wildlife vet and a naturalist at Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary tomorrow!!! So many wonderful things to be thankful for!! :-)
i'm particularly grateful for the people who regularly come to this site and make use of all it has to offer and whose participation makes it all worthwhile to me!
i'm also extremely grateful for the life of Steve Jobs. he fought against the most hideous cancer. who knows what more he'd give us if it weren't for that wretched disease. i have used apple products every day since he invented them. he made my life better, he made writing papers easier, designing easier, dreaming up things like wiffledust easier, ..you name it, steve jobs has been a part of my professional life for decades. he was a genius, a creative genius, and he showed us what we can do with our creativity. my prayers are with his family and his company. a REAL american company.
"I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes."
grateful IS a good word. i caught myself focusing on things i didn't have right this morning, and i tried to turn it around to counting the blessings. it helped turn the day around!
So grateful that I had the opportunity to spend the day with Veronica exploring and learning at Liberty Science Center. There is nothing like the excitement of learning in the eyes of your child! I'm filled with joy! :-)
