I am missing the writing challenges!!!  Trying to come up with my own ideas, but I'm a pretty boring person and have no good frame of reference!!   Recently, I helped an uncle celebrate his 90th birthday.  He's lived longer than any of his siblings and is older than either of his parents were when they passed.  Can you make a challenge out of that maybe?  I would never make a good English Composition teacher!!
  • wiffledust

oh ok, sheree! i'll get more hallenges happening!!! i'll do my best with your suggestion...stand by! :-)

Creative Writing Challenge June 15, 2011

    My Dad...

  • Maryanne Mesple

So that I am clear from what I think I understand (hehehe) you give a prompt like; My Dad ...  ~ and we take it from there and post our response via in the  Blog threads?
  • wiffledust

yes, maryanne....sometimes i give more detailed instructions. sometimes just a word. always, the goal is to prompt your creativity. always, the field is wide open to do with what you like. if you feel you want to write a song or a poem or a  haiku or an essay, go ahead. if you want to make a collage, that's cool too! but i've noticed that writers write more when they have any kind of nudging....so that's what we're here for! :-) answers go in blog spaces, because they just wouldn't fit here. and nobody has to follow the order either. anything that works for you is fine.
  • Maryanne Mesple

thanks Lisa. I love writing :-) I will say that I have not delved into writing specific topic material driven by another person in a long time! (not since writing my last thesis for college  ... oh, that reminds me I need to write a paper!)

new challenge in from wiffledust member Karrie Chambless:

From a conversation with friends whilst swimming in the stock pond: "isn't this the kind of place you'd imagine being, if you believed in "The Secret"?!?!

What would you image-into your life to make that "happy place" a part of your everyday existence?

  • Jameson Colbert

Could you please explain a little more on the challenge? Also I'm relatively new here and I don't really know where the 'Blog Spaces' are? Do we create our own spaces in the 'Blogs" tab in the top row of tabs?
  • wiffledust

hi jameson! sure can! this group contains suggestions to prompt anyone who likes to write into writing. there are no rules other than to take a suggestion...any one of the challenges and in no order (and as many as you like) and do what you like with it. however, because these comment boxes don't allow me to share and are too small for lengthy answers, i ask everyone to put your answer in your blog space. each person on here has a page, and each page has a blog space. you can go to the upper tabs under "blogs" and click "add a blog" or go on your page and click "add a blog". don't forget to add a pic and to save it on here and on your own computer in case there's a bug . don't want you to lose it! if you have more questions, holler!
  • Jameson Colbert

    Thanks for answering! :)
