The Gift List

The Holiday Gift List made by you..suggestions of indie artists and business products that you suggest for other folks. This will not only give great gift ideas, but promote some wonderful indie products. Suggest a CD, a craft, a writer's work and show how to get it. You can make as many entries as you like, but one item per post, please. Happy Holidays!

Who wants to be first? One item at a time, list some good stuff you think people should consider for holiday giving. Dont' forget to tell us how to get the item. After we get the list going, we can spread it around!

Top of mind for me is any CD by Jud Caswell, but especially Blackberry Time or Lost and Found. If I didn't already own these, I would get them again. www.judcaswell.com

Yes, I am promoting myself, but I believe in my songs, and thought you might too...  You can hear some for free on my website at http://denisemosermusic.com.

I also recommend Jennifer Haase's music.  Her first album Listening Chair has my favorite Christmas song called Dear Mrs Claus. http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/JenniferHaase  You can hear it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYly02JvuAE

  • Will Pollock

With thanks to Lisa for creating this great idea - and apologies for the self-promotion - I'm out with a new book that is designed to help you raise money, the fun way, in your local communities. It's called "Pizza for Good," and I'm really proud of it.

It's not your average eBook: PFG is unique in that it has snazzy photos and embedded video, professionally produced, with lots of profiles, stories and solid cooking tips. Duncan Connor helped me cut a blooper reel, which (shhhh… don't tell anyone) was my far favorite over all the other video clips:

"Pizza for Good" Blooper Reel from Will Pollock on Vimeo.

    From my publisher's website:

"Pizza for Good is an inspiring and wildly entertaining cookbook, memoir, and philanthropic guide to building local community through food. Will Pollock, the founder of the charitable artists' collaborative ARTvision and an Atlanta-based writer, has created 20 unique recipes for specialty pizzas that emphasize locally sourced ingredients and come with a buffet of helpful kitchen tips.

But Pizza for Good is also a funny, moving, and thought-provoking series of stories about Pollock's personal experience in creating a philanthropic arts organization and his community-building efforts as achieved through pizza. His aim is to not only give readers brand new ways to think about their favorite food, but to offer straightforward advice on how they can start their own "Pizza for Good" events for the causes that mean the most to them."

I'd appreciate you guys checking out the book onAmazon and on the Agate website - use the promo code "ROUND" for 50% off on the latter site. Also, reviews on Amazon are worth their weight in gold, so if you buy/read the book and can take a few minutes to write a validation I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for reading!
