Hello, Lisa! Your Children's Lit group just caught my attention.
I'm a dedicated month-long novelist through www.nanowrimo.org (every November!). Two years ago, I attempted to write a novel based on my late father's stories. Called "The Jones Family Chronicles: Ruby's Tale" it drew on the characters he pulled directly from my family. Problem is, I got cold feet half-way through the month. Sure I had plenty of work pressures that year, but I think I was afraid that it wasn't being true to his stories and my creations would never be as good.
Now that I'm freelance writing, I would like to restart the project. It's scary, though. Unlike the other novels where there was nothing to lose, here was a novel that had a lot of emotional baggage.
Would anyone be interested in reading a chapter and giving me feedback?
maura, steen is a great member here at wiffle and loves to write. she gives good feedback. she's excited to read your chapter and will be over as soon as she gets a few things done. sometime over the weekend you should hear from her!
I'm down! I'm working on homework and editing a friend's paper this afternoon but please please please send me a chapter! I would love to hear your dad's stories!
Thank you, Lisa and Steen, for your replies! Lisa, your words of encouragement are greatly appreciated it. Steen, I'll send you a chapter in the next few days, or maybe sooner. No rush. I just want to know if it's worth continuing. THANK YOU!
