Yard Sale new Lyric

'Yard Sale'

copyright 2014 by Richard Reiley

Welcome to my yard sale

Where I'm clearing out a path

Through a life of work and promise

And these old photographs

Wanna know about this big pile

Of keychains, keys and locks?

They'll fit just like a picture

In this old cigar box

No I don't remember

It's been a long, long time

Who'll offer me a dollar

Or a good ole US dime?

Need a book by Dorothy Parker?

Or Ring Lardner, if that's your speed?

Never heard of either?

Well then, why'd you learn to read!

Shared memories are all gone now

Now the memories are just mine

Who'll offer me a dollar

Or one good ole US dime?

Welcome to my yard sale

Welcome to my life

What will you carry with you?

Could you use this pocket knife?
